Dinner Guests

We have had a delightful week enteraining good friends.

Per and Dorrit Olsen temple workers and good friends from Copenhagen and have been in the U.S. a month visiting their two sons and numerous friends.  It was wonderful to connect again.  We send our love back to everyone in Denmark and Sweden with them.

This group of friends have been meeting every other month for 25 years.  It was about my turn to hostess and we had such a good time finding all the places of their Scandinavian Ancestors on the internet with a few additional picturers from our files. The group started the year all the husbands turned 50 and we've been "The 50's Group" ever since.  It is great to have friends to grow old with.....

 It was a fun oppotunity to share our  Danish porcelain  and food.

"Eastering"

Growing up in Epraim, Utah meant planning for "Eastering" all Spring.  Basically it was planning an overnight outing on the Easter Weekend.  Since we had a farm outside of town with a useable farmhouse that is where we always went Friday night until Saturday night. When you are 10 years old, that is high adventure.
   We have kept the "Eastering" tradition up with my own family and now children and grandchildren love to go to Ephraim and to the farm.

We colored dozens of Easter eggs with Wendy's family in preparation..

We stayed at the house in Ephraim Friday night and celebrated Wendy's Birthday.

 Saturday morning we went to the farm and had an Easter Egg Hunt around the homestead.

 Hiding the 300 plus plastic eggs filled with candy....

 Ready  to find the eggs: 29 per child.  Though we never counted so we may be finding eggs all year there.

 Couldn't miss a chance to gather the grandchildren to the "picture" tree

And finally we found a hill to roll the eggs down, petty rocky, but fun.

General Conference

I love General Conference time, the first weekend in April and October.

I love the excitement of all the Saints gathering and hearing The Prophet and Apostles.  It is so nice to hear their optomistic encouragement to handle today's trials and problems.

You can feel the excitement and faith of the people as they gather on Temple Square

Mission reunions abound.  We went to Jim's from the time he was a young missionary.  We have since served with several of these men and their wives back in Denmark.

April

April in Salt Lake is such a beautiful time. Flowers and trees are blossoming and there is lots of blue sky.

 Temple Square is especially beautiful just in time for all the General Conference visitors.  We went down a few days early to hear the Men's Choral Scholars from Cambridge's Kings College who performed at the Tebernacle.
